Pentecost

Pentecost is a powerful reminder of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that empowered the early church to spread the gospel. As we enter the new year, we dedicate this season to prayer, seeking the same outpouring—the latter rain—as we begin our journey anew with God. In the same way that the disciples came together in unity to pray before receiving the early rain of the Spirit, we too gather to ask for God’s presence, guidance, and power.

This theme invites us to a month of prayer, focusing on the need for the Holy Spirit in our lives, our church, and our communities. It’s not just about individual prayers but about coming together in unity, just as the disciples did, to seek the fullness of God’s Spirit. As we face the challenges and opportunities of a new year, we recognize that we cannot move forward without the guidance and strength that come from the Holy Spirit.

Through this season of Pentecost, we prepare ourselves for the year ahead, asking God to fill us, guide us, and empower us to accomplish His will. Just as the early church was transformed through the power of the Spirit, we pray for that same transformation in our lives today. This is how we want to start our year—with God at the center, leading us by His Spirit.
