Fantasy World

Lately I have been seeing young boys and girls, Adult men and women, and even some elderly people walking around with their phone chasing imaginary animals. I have never seen anything like this. According to several reports, a man fell off a cliff while chasing this fantasy pet. A young boy broke into a home trying to chase this illusive animal. Still others cross into moving traffic while pursuing this creature.

Since the birth of video games, minds have been altered into living life in a fantasy world. Some worlds are in space, other worlds are in the sea, still others are in cities fighting aliens from other worlds. The older generation also has their fantasy worlds. They watch T.V. and movies for hours fascinated with the illusion of a different world order and existence.

I remember going to two villages one in Massachusetts, and the other in upstate New York where the folks dressed in their time period, and talked the style of English of the time period, and even made pottery and other items like that of the time period. Why the fantasy worlds? Why the alternate universes? It’s really simple. The world we live in doesn’t satisfy the inner soul. We know something is missing. We know instinctively that this world is not our own. So the quest for something else drives humanity. The enemy takes advantage of the fact that we are searching, seeking, striving for a better world by providing these fantasy worlds. In the end, these imaginary worlds cease to maintain our attention because they never satisfy.

That is why there is a constant search for something new, something different, and something that satisfies the soul. The enemy will have humanity in a constant quest because he understands that if humankind ever discovers the One Source that can only satisfy the human heart, he would lose his ability to control the masses.

There is only one world, one future, one domain that will satisfy you. “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:13 We were created to appreciate a world without sin, without pain and suffering. We want change, and Christ offers that change. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17new Heaven1

Christ will satisfy the quest. The long journey will be over; finally we will have peace and rest for our souls. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

How are you today? Do you live in a world of fantasy? Are you searching for a better world? Here are some words of encouragement.

“It is peace that you need- Heaven’s forgiveness and peace and love in the soul. Money cannot buy it, intellect cannot procure it, wisdom cannot attain to it; you can never hope, by your own efforts, to secure it. But God offers it to you as a gift, ‘without money and without price.’ Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will but reach out your hand and grasp it. The Lord says, ‘Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’ Isaiah 1:18. ‘A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you.’ Ezekiel 36:26. A Call to Stand Apart p.29

May God bless you this Sabbath as your journey continues towards the New Heavens and the New Earth with Jesus.
