The Original Health Care

ORGANIC-FOOD

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding see; to you it shall be for meat.” Genesis 1:29.

God has given us access to a bounty of his blessings in the food He has created for us to enjoy and sustain ourselves. In a time when most of us are tending to items in our busy lives, diet and health unfortunately can take a back seat to other events in our day. A diet of convenient choice replaces one of conscious choice. Even when time permits we are bombarded by advertisements in billboards, television commercials, fad diet commentary, and books. Where is one to find the answer and proper instruction? What should be our focus? Let us turn to scripture and the “pen of inspiration” for guidance. “In order to know what are the best foods, we must study God’s original plan for man’s diet. He who created man and who understands his needs appointed Adam his food.

“Behold, He said, “I have given you every herb yielding seed…and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.” Genesis 1:29, A.R.V.

Upon leaving Eden to gain his livelihood by tilling the earth under the curse of sin, man received permission to eat also “the herb of the field.” Genesis 3:18. Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible, are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.” Ministry of Healing pg.123.

Some of us may have, over time, fallen victim to poor food choices and eating habits. ”Where wrong habits of diet have been indulged, there should be no delay in reform.” Ministry of Healing pg. 126. Let us look to God for guidance and strength to conform to His will for our lives in all things. May each of us study, educate, encourage, and pray for one another in needed reforms. “Our bodies are Christ’s purchased possession, and we are not at liberty to do with them as we please.” Ministry of Healing pg. 128. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:20.

Let us remember that great sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross and seek to honor him in all things.
